For Service as Action this year, my group and I were tasked with a small student led fundraiser for the Eva’s fund and St. John’s hospice. As students, it can be difficult to raise money within a school environment for these kinds of organizations, but the group and I still wanted to do something for St. John’s hospice that might help some of the residents there, so we set up a table in reception for a couple of days during lunch time, students would be able to drop by and lend their artistic abilities to make a holiday card for the St. John’s hospice patients. We ended up with over 40 beautiful hand made cards, made by lots of different students, and all for a good cause. We sincerely hope that these cards have made an impression on some of the St. John’s hospice residents, and may have resulted in a few smiles.

Happy holidays to everyone, and this is your reminder from all of the students at Halcyon to do something kind for someone before the year ends. It has been an honour working with my classmates on this project, and I hope that the students who contributed to our project know that their card made somebody happy. Thank you!
