The Halcyonite

As we embark on the 2023-2024 school year, We here at Halcyonite are here to provide a quick introduction to the team of young leaders who will serve as our Student Council. These individuals will hold their respective roles until the next election in September 2024.

Meet the Council:

President: Sufia C

Sufia will serve as our Student Council President for the coming school year. She has said that she will represent the student body accurately and ensure our concerns and ideas are heard. Sufia will also play a vital role in coordinating and organising various events and initiatives throughout the year.

Vice President: Molly H

Molly H holds the role of Vice President, providing support to Sufia and contributing to decision-making processes, making her a crucial part of the council’s leadership. She will also hold the position of President when Sufia is unavailable or absent. 

Student Voice: Noah M

Noah M, the Student Voice representative, is responsible for collecting and representing student thoughts and opinions. He will collaborate closely with Sufia and Molly to bring forward student ideas, allowing for collective school community development.

Head(s) of Communications: Chiara P & Alex P.W

Chiara P and Alex P.W will serve as the Head(s) of Communications, responsible for keeping the school community informed about upcoming events, meetings, and important school updates. They will also manage creative tasks such as designing posters and handling social media to ensure clear communication.

Key Responsibilities: “What do they do?”

Our Student Council has here at halcyon a pivotal role to play in making our school experience even more vibrant and exciting. Throughout the year, they will organise a range of events, including but not limited to:

1. Halloween Catwalk: 

Get ready for a spooky extravaganza! Thanks to our Student Council, Halloween will be filled with thrilling costumes and a catwalk event that will bring out our school’s creativity and competitive spirit, take a break from your classes, judge some costumes, and hang out with your friends for a little while.

2. Pie Day: 

Who doesn’t love a delicious slice of pie? To the face, that is. The Student Council will be there to orchestrate Pie Day, a fun day in which you and your friends can come together and pie some of your favourite teachers, and even our Student Council!

3. And More:

 Beyond these, our Student Council will be working diligently to plan and execute various events and initiatives that will aim to foster a sense of unity, fun, and togetherness within our school community.
