As a sixth grader, I have noticed that my grade seems more connected than higher grade levels. I feel like there are two main reasons:
- There are two class which share all their class together.
- Games, specifically Among Us!
Among Us, if you did not know, is a social deduction game. Players are on board a spaceship, and the crew mates (majority of the players) must discover the impostor(s)/killer(s) on board, before it is too late.

I feel as if Among Us made my class come closer together more. In Among Us, players need to communicate with the other players in the game to win, and must know when others are lying. The best way to learn when people are lying is to get to know them. Many people do something when they lie, such as smiling or playing with their hair.
Video games actually make people happier (what a shock). Games release dopamine, which is a chemical that is released in the brain to make you feel joy, and a sense of accomplishment.

Experiencing that rush of dopamine as a group makes the brain associate that joy with others in your group. So, if you want to connect with your grade, play Among Us!
But, hey, that’s just a theory… A HALCYON GAME THEORY!
Do you play Among Us? Do you agree with Joey? Leave a comment below!
